As of March 2026 Janina has been Managing Director of hFMA - the Hessen Film and Media Academy. Previously, she served as Co-Managing Director and Project Manager at the Research Campus of Central Hessen which she helped establish and expand. In her academic life she completed her PhD on the mechanisms and challenges of serial writing and reading of American magazine novels in the “quality monthlies” from the late 19th century. Nowadays, she is an avid consumer of serial stories on the screen.
