Louisa Frey is a Filmmaker from the Giessen region, studying Motion Pictures at Hochschule Darmstadt with a focus on directing and production. Her film journey began with a summer class at Film University Babelsberg and a semester abroad in Canada studying television and film. Her debut documentary series “Women Taking the Field” portrays a women’s American football team from Giessen, exploring female athletes in a male-dominated sport. The pilot episode addresses stereotypes and challenges the women face. Throughout the series, the women share how football impacted their lives while pushing through one of their hardest seasons yet. Louisa has directed and produced several student films and worked with her university’s video team. This festival marks her first public screening. While primarily interested in fictional storytelling, she remains open to documentary projects that move her thematically. She plans to continue developing new projects as a Director and Producer.
