Lotte Haus Series

Lotte Haus is the first international web series co-production between South Korea and Germany, especially with Hessian producers. Secret roles play the Lotte World Tower in Seoul and the Lottehaus in Wetzlar. Director, producers and leading actress and actor of the series are present and talk about the production. In addition, director and producer Joo Hyun Yoo presents his two series in the competition.

UN3, the channel of the National University of Tres de Febrero, began its activities in 2014 and since then it has been a pioneer in short-duration web series in Argentina today. Short presentation about UN3 and a preview of the 3 part workshop.

Hanshi Charlie: Cross-Media

In Hanshi Charlie, the cultural journalist Mathias Balzer and the filmmaker Luis Balthisar Balzer tell the story of Charlie Lenz. A 160- page report and a 3-part digital series create a multi-layered and touching portrait of the Swiss-Austrian Ju-Jitsu grandmaster. In the conversation, the cross-media aspect and the development of the project will be examined.

Referencing series from this years competition, this lecture will analyse historical themed digital series and their conception of history. Anja Horstmann, teacher and employee at the Institute of Specialist Journalism History at Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen, takes a look at short-form digital series and reflects on how this media depicts history and society of it’s time and which conception of history the viewer is left with.

The Russian Digital Series Market

Liudmila Filonenko from Moscow introduces the Russian web series market in all its facets. She is the Director of Communications at the Russian web series festival “Realist Web Fest“ and correspondent of “The Digital Reporter.” “The Digital Reporter“ is Russia's first media about the web series industry and they are also the team behind “Realist Web Fest“ and are producing their own web series in the meantime.

Web series are still a young medium in Germany by international standards, but they have been experiencing rapid development for the last five years. This year 5 outstanding series have qualified for the first “DIMA CoPro Series” - the unique platform for digital series producers who are looking for co-production opportunities. These projects will be highlighted during Seriale Pro. Branded Series

Growing digitization opens up new opportunities for media professionals and for the digital series as well. Fictional storytelling blends with brand experience and cross-media content.
