Lion H. Lau

Lion H. Lau (they/them) was born in Leipzig in 1986. Between 2007 and 2011, they studied journalism, modern German literature and art history in Bavaria and worked, among other things, as an editor for Bayerischer Rundfunk and as an assistant director at the Stadttheater Ingolstadt. They studied screenwriting between 2015 and 2018 at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and work now as a writer for feature films, tv movies and series. In 2020, Lions queer animation fantasy series 12 DAYS OF CHAOS was awarded development funding by the Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung and their intersectional queer family series CHOSEN is being funded by nordmedia. 2022 Lion Lau receives the Juliane Bartel Media Award for Gender Equality for the ZDFneo drama series BECOMING CHARLIE. The series was nominated for the German Television Award and the Grimme Award. Lion H. Lau is represented by Verlag der Autoren.
